DIY (Do It Yourself)
Welcome to our DIY program, designed to teach self-resilience through hands-on activities, providing survivors of domestic violence with sustainable and accessible ways to design intentional spaces.
By engaging in creative endeavors, such as creating art and refurbishing furniture, participants gain skills, confidence, and a sense of ownership over their living environments.
This program focuses on conducting workshops that teach survivors practical skills in refurbishing furniture, creating art, and other DIY projects; emphasizing sustainable and cost-effective design practices, encouraging the use of recycled materials and eco-friendly techniques; facilitating group DIY projects to build a sense of community and support among participants.
Did you know? Working with your hands is shown to produce endorphins, reducing stress, and alleviating anxiety. By teaching self-resilience through hands-on activities and highlighting the mental health benefits, the program addresses the broader goal of fostering independence and self-sufficiency, while promoting overall well-being.
