DIY (Do It Yourself)
Our DIY Program empowers survivors of domestic violence through hands-on activities that foster self-resilience, creativity, and confidence. By engaging in furniture refurbishing, art-making, and other DIY projects, participants gain practical skills to transform their spaces in sustainable and accessible ways.
This program focuses on teaching practical skills, promoting sustainable design, and building a sense of community. Workshops provide survivors with cost-effective, eco-friendly design techniques, encouraging the use of recycled materials and creative solutions. Group DIY projects also foster connection and support, strengthening a sense of ownership over one’s living space.
Research shows that working with your hands can reduce stress, boost mood, and promote overall well-being. By equipping survivors with creative tools for self-expression and independence, the DIY Program helps lay the foundation for healing, stability, and self-sufficiency.
